We're excited to announce our lead investment in Anam's £1.75 million pre-seed round, alongside our great friends at Torch Capital and Anamacara, as well as portfolio founder Mati Staniszewski of Elevenlabs and Zeena Qureshi of Sonantic.
The Anam Story
Founded by Caoimhe Murphy (CEO) and Ben Carr (CTO) in 2024, the duo met while working at UK Unicorn Synthesia. Today, Anam is developing cutting-edge infrastructure to create and deploy 'digital humans'. These AI-powered humans can engage in natural, real-time conversations, providing a more personalised and engaging experience than traditional chatbots or other automated systems. Anam's digital humans can understand context, express emotions, and respond with human-like nuance - all built on the ‘brain’ or custom-context of each customer - enabling companies to scale their human-to-human surface area and deliver cost-effective and human-centric experiences to all users.
Addressing the Human Touch in AI Interactions
As AI and automation increasingly permeate business processes, there's a growing disconnect between businesses and their customers - and a flurry of chatbots and automated systems have plagued user's experiences. We believe the chatbot approach lacks the human touch required by modern Western consumers.
