Nick Fellingham is the CEO and co-founder of Bristol based Condense. Concept first partnered with Nick and team during their pre-seed round, back in summer of 2020. Since then, the team has grown to 25+ people, and Condense are seen as one of the leading startups tackling events in the metaverse globally.
I was born in London, but I grew up in a suburb halfway towards Winchester.
Bristol, UK.
In 2012 I taught myself machine learning by watching youtube and competing on Kaggle. My first business idea was around building tools powered by machine learning for Excel.
Condense enables live-events to be streamed into the metaverse. It is the only company in the world with the end-to-end capture and streaming technology to live stream real-world events like music and sports events into 3D applications.
The company uses cutting-edge computer vision, machine learning and proprietary streaming infrastructure to capture and embed live 3D video into any metaverse, game, mobile app or platform created with Unity or Unreal Engine or for the web.
I had the idea whilst playing a game in virtual reality on the Oculus DK2. I was absorbed in a virtual world when I had the realisation that 3D interactive video will be the next (and potentially last) major leap forward in video technology. I still believe that and it's what gets me up every morning!
Tens of thousands of events take place every day across the globe, and the pandemic showed us the confines in distribution that exist in traditional setups.
Perhaps not a surprise but our industry is full of people that love technology and are extremely positive about the future. It’s extremely collaborative and supportive.
I expect all live events to be recorded and live streamed using technology like ours.
Imagine the open world games of the future. You will be able to wander into a stadium with thousands of other virtual spectators to see a real tennis match, live and from your own unique perspective. You could walk into a bar and experience a connection with a real musician as if you were standing right next to them.
We will strive to make as many of the people and organisations who work with us as successful as we possibly can.
We are always looking for good engineers. In particular we are looking for a Senior game engine integration engineer at the moment. Get in touch if you think that could be you!
We have a friendly and relaxed culture and we are working on cutting edge technology with a world class team.
I felt confident being relaxed and honest with everyone on the team very quickly.
