Reece Chowdhry

General Partner

Background

Reece Chowdhry is Founding Partner of Concept Ventures, which has scaled into Europe’s largest dedicated pre-seed fund, now managing over $200m in AUM. He has been building and investing in startups for over a decade, backing more than 100 companies across Concept and his angel portfolio, and is also an active LP in a number of emerging funds. He is passionate about supporting the next generation of VC managers as they establish and grow their platforms.

He began his career at EY before incubating and operating three software startups; one exited, one failed, and one is still running today. These experiences gave him a front-row seat to the realities of company building and shaped his conviction that people, not just products or markets, are the true drivers of success.

Reece also launched the Concept Venture Pledge, committing 1% of the firm’s carry to causes chosen by portfolio founders; a model now adopted by several other VC firms.

ROLE

At Concept, Reece defines the firm’s strategy, manages LP relationships, and develops the team, steering its long-term growth while continually evolving its investment framework. He partners with a select number of founders each year and represents the fund at board level. Reece plays an active role across the portfolio, guiding numerous Concept founders from the earliest idea through to successful exits.

Outside of venture, Reece is a sports fanatic, a non-fiction book junkie, and a dedicated Harry Potter fan; even collecting first editions. He’s also a lifelong theme park enthusiast, having visited nearly every Disneyland in the world, a passion that began as a kid hooked on RollerCoaster Tycoon.
